The larval stage is when the damage occurs from this pest, but we remember the adult male more. He is the tan moth flying around and crawling on outdoor lights and windows when almost every other insect is overwintering. It is truly amazing to see a swarm of these in November, December, and even mild days in January.
We break the cycle at the ‘free feeder’ caterpillar stage with the safest spinosad products on the market. If you have Maple, Oak, Ash, Apple, crabapple, fringetree, blueberry, cherry, or plum that are valuable to your landscape then call Bug Busters Inc. at 781 320-9800.
